Over time contaminants build up in your vehicle’s clear coat that make it a rough surface even after washing it. If left unchecked for long periods of time, these contaminants can break down your clear coat and cause fading or worse. A clay bar is a light abrasive that removes these contaminants making your vehicle’s surface smooth again. A smooth surface means light will reflect better on your vehicle meaning shinier car. A protective coating application such as a paint sealant, wax, or ceramic coating is recommended after a clay bar to protect the exposed clear coat.
